Welcome, folks! My name is Dr. Kristin Bennett, and I am an Assistant Professor of Technical Communication at Sam Houston State University. I graduated with my Ph.D. in Writing, Rhetorics, and Literacies from Arizona State University in May 2022.

My research and teaching intersect with the areas of rhetoric, technical and professional communication, disability rhetorics, business communication, rhetorics of health and medicine, user-experience design, digital rhetorics, composition, writing center studies, and gender studies.

Dedicated to social justice, my research, teaching, and service explore methods for interrogating the ways in which seemingly neutral, normative practices, policies, and pedagogies may contribute to oppressive systems across various institutional and organizational settings. Through my research, I offer pedagogical and practical methods for rhetorically engaging in discourse in ways attuned to the needs and experiences of a range of diverse bodyminds to promote more equitable and accessible documentation and design practices.
